My normal day to day workout became boring and basically it was a chore for me to make it to the gym. I saw peeps getting involved in CrossFit. Not having a clue what CrossFit involved, I was a skeptic. A close friend(Dave Rietzen) pushed me for about a year to give it a try. The picture is what I’ve accomplished in 1.5 yrs at Prime. The picture on the left was taken 3 months prior to me starting my CrossFit endeavor. With a subpar diet and still having an occasional drink, I’ve gone from 238 to 204. It hasn’t been easy because I was the normal meathead lifter who slacked on leg days. I’ve never did Olympic lifts, which also posed a challenge. I’ll be honest I was scared! I was intimidated the first time I walked into the gym.
From the my initial intro class with James I was intrigued. I started with almost everything scaled and couldn’t grasp some of the lifts. With the help and encouragement from everyone in the gym, the instructors, and people I barely knew, I kept pushing. I’m not the fastest, the strongest, or the most motivated, but I have enjoying myself and will continue to get better in time.
I couldn’t recommend a better place to get involved in CrossFit then CrossFit Prime. In a normal body building gym you deal with egos and ignorance, @ Prime you drop your ego at the door and fall into a family of a great group of people who genuinely want to help you meet your fitness goals.
